Sie möchten Ihr Tier als Emotional Support Animal, bzw. als PSD (Psychiatric Service Dog) registrieren , damit Ihr Tier Sie auch dann begleiten kann, wenn dies unter normalen Umständen nicht möglich ist. Wir haben das Non-Profit Projekt ESAeurope entwickelt um bei dieser Absicht zu helfen.

Wenn Ihr Tier bei Ihnen ist sind Sie entspannter, zuversichtlicher, präsenter im Hier und Jetzt, weniger einsam, freier von Zwängen und anderen emotionalen Einschränkungen, offener im Alltag für viele Tätigkeiten und Sie sind viel mehr als ohne Ihr Tier.

ESAeurope Card aber auch die neue PSD Card sollten dabei helfen Reisen mit dem Begleittier durchzuführen und Ihr Tier in öffentliche Einrichtungen mitzunehmen. Wir arbeiten daran diese Dienstleistung auszubauen. Aktuell richten wir uns nach den US DoT Standards.

You want to register your animal as an Emotional Support Animal, or as a PSD (Psychiatric Service Dog) , so that your animal can accompany you even when this is not possible under normal circumstances. We have developed the non-profit project ESAeurope to help with this intention.

When your animal is with you, you are more relaxed, more confident, more present in the here and now, less lonely, freer from constraints and other emotional limitations, more open to many activities in everyday life and you are much more than without your animal.

ESAeurope Card but also the new PSD Card should help to make trips with the companion animal and to take your animal to public facilities. We are working to expand this service. Currently we are following the US DoT standards.

Seit dem 1.Q 2021 ist es nicht mehr möglich mit ESA’s (Emotional Support Animals zu fliegen. ESA’s werden nach der neuesten Empfehlung des US DoT (US Department of Transport) als gemeine Haustiere (Pets) behandelt und haben keinen Sonderstatus. Nur noch Hunde, beziehungsweise Tiere bis 8 kg (inklusive Transportbehälter), dürfen in die Kabine mitgenommen werden. Hunde benötigen dafür eine PSD Ausbildung (PSD = Psychiatric Service Dog).

Sie finden dazu unseren Vorschlag in unserem Webshop. Sie können je nach Voraussetzung drei verschiedene Pakete zum PSD Training buchen.

As of 1.Q 2021 it is no longer possible to fly with ESA’s (Emotional Support Animals). According to the latest recommendation of the US DoT (US Department of Transport), ESAs are treated as common pets and have no special status. Only dogs, or animals weighing up to 8 kg (including carrier), are allowed in the cabin. Dogs need a PSD training (PSD = Psychiatric Service Dog).

Mit Ausnahme des Fliegens können Sie die ESAeurope Card weiterhin sehr gut gebrauchen. Themen sind Ihr Tier zu Behörden mitzunehmen, bei Hotels anzufragen, die normalerweise keine Haustiere akzeptieren, kranke Menschen zu besuchen, Ihr Tier in Busse und Züge mitzunehmen, bei Ihrem Vermieter vorstellig zu werden und anderes mehr.

Wir empfehlen den Erwerb der ESAeurope Card immer dann wenn es sich bei Ihrem ESA um keinen Hund handelt oder Sie nicht den Huptzweck “Reisen” mit dem Flugzeug anstreben.

With the exception of flying, you can still make great use of the ESAeurope Card. Topics include taking your pet to government offices, inquiring at hotels that do not normally accept pets, visiting sick people, taking your pet on buses and trains, visiting your landlord, and more.

We recommend purchasing the ESAeurope Card whenever your ESA is not a dog or you are not aiming for the main purpose of “traveling” by plane.

Das entsprechende Formular können Sie im Shop kostenfrei downloaden. In aller Regel wird diese Bestätigung von Psychotherapeuten, Betreuungsvereinen und auch allgemeinen Ärzten sehr gerne ausgestellt, da der Nutzen eines Tieres für den jeweils betroffenen Menschen eindeutig belegt ist.

Please note that a confirmation from your psychotherapist or doctor is required for the issuance of the full ESAeurope Card, but also the PSDeurope Card. You can download the corresponding form in the store free of charge. As a rule, this confirmation is very gladly issued by psychotherapists, care associations and also general physicians, since the benefit of an animal for the respective person concerned is clearly proven.

Zur Ausstellung der ESAeurope Card ist eine Bestätigung Ihres Arztes oder Psychiaters nötig, nach der Ihr Tier und Sie ein untrennbares Team ausmachen. Aktuell müssen wir aber darauf hinweisen, dass Emotional Support Animals bei immer mehr Fluglinien als normale “Pets” (Haustiere) behandelt werden, da diese keine unmittelbare Ausbildung benötigen.

Wenn Sie also die ESAeurope Card hauptsächlich für Reisen mit dem Flugzeug benötigen empfehlen wir die PSDeurope Card zu erwerbern und Ihren Hund entsprechend auszubilden. ESAeurope Card (confirms the status of your animal as an Emotional Support Animal)

The ESAeurope Card is possible for all types of animals and documents the special psychological / psychiatric assistance that your animal provides to you.

For the issuance of the ESAeurope Card a confirmation of your doctor or psychiatrist is necessary, after which your animal and you form an inseparable team. Currently, however, we must point out that Emotional Support Animals are being treated as normal “Pets” (domestic animals) by more and more airlines, as they do not require any immediate training.

So if you need the ESAeurope Card mainly for air travel we recommend to get the PSDeurope Card and train your dog accordingly. Our specially designed training program (duration between 3 weeks and 2 months) provides the appropriate training, based on US DoT standards.

PSYCHIATRIC SERVICE DOG’S (PSD) sind HUNDE, die ihrem Besitzer mit psychischen/psychiatrischen Funktionsstörungen oder Kontext bezogenen Einschränkungen (Flugangst, Platzangst, etc.) therapeutische Vorteile durch Zuneigung und Begleitung bieten und gleichzeitig dazu ausgebildet sind, diese Einschränkungen nicht nur durch ihr Dasein, sondern auch durch individuelle Fähigkeiten zu verstärken; sie übernehmen damit spezielle Aufgaben. What is a PSD (PSYCHIATRIC SERVICE DOG)?

PSYCHIATRIC SERVICE DOG’S (PSD) are DOGS that provide therapeutic benefits to their owner with mental/psychiatric dysfunction or context related limitations (fear of flying, claustrophobia, etc.) through affection and companionship while being trained to reinforce these limitations not only through their existence but also through individual skills; thus, they take on specific tasks. PSD’s must have the necessary health, character aptitude, obedience, as well as a distinct positive social and environmental behavior, so that they can support their owner in everyday life with specific, individually oriented assistance.

Wir versuchen mit diesem Projekt Menschen zu helfen mit Ihrem Tier (in der Regel Hund) ein besseres Leben im Rahmen der Gesellschaft ohne Ausgrenzung zu ermöglichen. 

ESAeurope is a non-profit project created by VFBB (Association for Bonding and Relationship in Animal Assisted Work). With this project we try to help people with their animal (usually dog) to live a better life in the framework of society without exclusion.
